In addition, recent developments have included the prosecution of the Attorney General, Álvaro García Ortiz, for his purported role in leaking personal details regarding Isabel Díaz Ayuso's partner.

Sánchez's silence is particularly conspicuous in light of the recent scandals, including recordings that surfaced involving Leire Díez, a PSOE member, allegedly devising a clandestine operation targeting Antonio Balas, a lieutenant colonel leading investigations related to the government and Sánchez's relatives.

Despite the escalating controversies, Sánchez has maintained a low profile, attending sessions only in the Congress of Deputies and not in the Senate for approximately 15 months.

His recent communications with the media have been limited to international interviews, notably with Bloomberg and CNBC in January 2023 following his participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos.

This ongoing silence persists despite extraordinary claims circulating from political leaders within the PSOE, including disseminated misinformation suggesting threats against Sánchez's safety, which have since been discredited.
