Pilar Sánchez Acera, who served as the chief of staff to Oscar López in the Spanish government, has provided testimony in the Supreme Court that contradicts findings from the Guardia Civil's Central Operational Unit (UCO).

This investigation centers on a leaked email regarding Alberto González Amador, the partner of the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

The email, which included an admission of tax fraud from González Amador's lawyer, Carlos Neira, was sent by Sánchez Acera to Juan Lobato, the leader of the Madrid PSOE, on the morning of March 14, 2024, at 08:29.

The leaks were analyzed by UCO agents, who noted that the email became public shortly after it was shared, appearing in the media outlet El Plural at 09:06, just over half an hour later.

The UCO concluded that Sánchez Acera exhibited 'certain control' over the email's dissemination, as she reassured Lobato that the leak would be published soon, stating that by 11:00 'everyone would have seen it.' Notably, she followed up with a link to the article in El Plural at 09:29.

During her testimony, Sánchez Acera claimed that she could not recall who sent her the email image initially and suggested that journalists must have already obtained it.

However, she maintained that her communication was limited to Lobato.

The UCO report specifically notes that her remarks during the conversation with Lobato, where she referred to the email as 'the letter from Ayuso's boyfriend's lawyer,' mirrored the headline used by El Plural.

Sánchez Acera faced allegations from several parties that her testimony was 'unlikely.' The UCO report asserts that she had knowledge of the email's content prior to its media publication, especially as it was discussed on multiple occasions among political figures.

On the night preceding the leak, other media outlets published excerpts, yet El Plural was the first to publish the full contents of the email.

On the day of her testimony, Sánchez Acera acknowledged that she had changed her mobile phone following her departure from the Moncloa Palace, which occurred when López transitioned to the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

Meanwhile, questions have emerged regarding the management of communication records, as Sánchez Acera indicated she had lost the original messages due to the format change of her new device.

Requests have been made by accusers for the judge to investigate Sánchez Acera's former mobile, with the potential for further actions depending on her status as a witness or as an investigated party.

The political ramifications remain significant, as the leaked email and subsequent remarks have fueled public criticism directed at both Ayuso and González Amador from various government officials and party leadership since its disclosure.
