Santiago Abascal, the leader of Spain's Vox party, addressed a significant rally organized by the National Rally in Mormant-sur-Vernisson, France, approximately 130 kilometers south of Paris.

The event took place on Monday and featured several prominent figures from the far-right political landscape in Europe, including Marine Le Pen of the National Rally, Viktor Orbán of Hungary, and Matteo Salvini of Italy's League party.

During his speech, addressed to approximately 6,000 attendees, Abascal expressed strong opposition to what he termed the actions of globalists, stating, "They will come for everything and against each one of us." He accused governments, particularly that of Spain under Pedro Sánchez, of using political institutions, media, and a politicized judiciary for their own ends.

Abascal characterized Sánchez's administration as one built on "lies, treachery, division, and corruption."

Abascal further warned of the potential for violence from political adversaries as they confront electoral defeats, referencing a recent attack on Colombian conservative candidate Miguel Uribe during a campaign event in Bogotá.

He stated, "They will use violence when they understand their defeat is inevitable."

The rally follows a year after the European parliamentary elections, during which the coalition known as Patriots emerged as the third-largest group in the European Parliament.

Abascal emphasized the need for continued resistance against globalist agendas, citing the disqualification of Le Pen from the upcoming 2027 French presidential elections as an example of the ongoing challenges faced by right-wing leaders.

Abascal applauded Geert Wilders, the leader of the Dutch Freedom Party, who recently withdrew from the governing coalition in the Netherlands over concerns about immigration policies.

He drew parallels between Wilders' actions and Vox's decision to exit regional governments in Spain to avoid complicity with what he termed mass immigration policies.

At the rally, Abascal expressed solidarity with Orbán, who he noted has resisted globalist pressures from the European Union.

He framed the Patriots coalition as dedicated to ordinary people in contrast to what he described as the interests of millionaires supporting globalist ideologies.

The Patriots coalition consists of parties from up to 13 European countries, including Vox, the League in Italy, and the National Rally in France, along with Orbán's Fidesz party in Hungary.

Formed in the summer of 2024 after the European elections, Patriots has established itself as a significant political bloc with 86 members in the European Parliament, ranking third behind the European People's Party and the Socialists.

Abascal was elected president of the Patriots coalition during a summit in Paris on November 16. His role is intended to unite similar ideological forces, particularly those within the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR), which includes Giorgia Meloni, the Prime Minister of Italy.

Despite Vox's shift to Patriots, Abascal indicated a commitment to maintaining a strong relationship with ECR parties.
