Third Armed Robbery Reported in Málaga Within Days

Police investigate a bank heist at a La Caixa branch, marking the third robbery incident in the city recently.
The National Police of Spain is currently investigating a third armed robbery in Málaga, following a recent series of similar incidents.

This latest robbery occurred at a La Caixa bank branch located on Avenida Ortega y Gasset.

Around 9:28 AM on Tuesday, an individual armed with a knife entered the bank and threatened employees to hand over available cash.

The exact amount stolen has yet to be determined, pending an inventory of the cash registers.

Specialized officers from the Armed Robbery and Violent Crimes Unit have been dispatched to locate the suspect, who fled the scene after the robbery.

This marks the second successful robbery in a string of events within a short period, with the first incident having taken place at a McDonald's restaurant.

On March 16, around 11:00 PM, two armed individuals entered the McDonald’s located in the Bahía Azul shopping center, demanding the presence of the manager.

They ultimately left without getting any money; however, one of the assailants reportedly fired a gunshot into a wall to intimidate patrons and staff.

Authorities recovered a bullet and a shell casing during their investigation.

Additionally, the police recently apprehended a dangerous criminal in San Fernando, Cádiz, linked to a jewelry store robbery in Málaga that occurred just days prior.

The suspect, who had previously been involved in severe crimes and was subject to multiple search warrants for previous thefts, caused panic in San Fernando while attempting to evade capture by firing shots in different locations, including the vicinity of a residential home.

In another related robbery, an incident occurred on March 10 at a post office in Málaga, where an individual allegedly made off with €10,000 by brandishing a firearm.

The police continue to investigate these incidents as they indicate a concerning trend of armed robberies in the area.
