In this light, a report titled 'Machismo in Politics' raises critical questions about the existing gender disparities in political decision-making.

Meritxell Batet, former President of the Congress, argues that while there has been significant legislative progress and societal change, top positions in major corporations and the judiciary remain predominantly male.

Notably, she points out that 67% of those passing the judicial examinations are women, suggesting that similar representation should be reflected in the Supreme Court.

Cristina Monge, a sociologist and political scientist, asserts that decision-making in some sectors remains overtly male-dominated, even with an increasing number of female leaders, including vice-presidents and ministers.

She emphasizes that these women still face discrimination typical of the broader societal context.

Rosa Estaràs, a Member of the European Parliament and Vice-President of the Equality Commission, reflects on her early political career in the 1990s, indicating that challenges persist, albeit in less intense forms than before.
