In a landmark operation, the Guardia Civil has seized seven tonnes of cocaine transported via the Guadalquivir River, making it the largest drug haul involving narco-boats in Andalusia.

The cocaine was discreetly concealed in two bunkers on a secluded estate in Coria del Río, near Sevilla.

Here, three members of a criminal network were apprehended, according to a statement released by the Guardia Civil.

This tactical operation, initiated in the early hours of December 27, saw the deployment of aerial, maritime, and terrestrial units tracking suspicious semi-rigid boats at the mouth of the Guadalquivir.

The boats were observed offloading large bundles, subsequently transported to a fortified estate guarded by the armed trio.

Upon raiding the premises, officers uncovered two maritime containers ingeniously modified to store the narcotics without degradation, accessible via top hatches.

The inventory of confiscated items included an assault rifle, an AK47, and two stolen vehicles.

Distinctive branding was evident on the drug packages, showcasing the word 'Guitarra' alongside a demonic visage and horns imprinted on the wrappings.

The operation represents a substantial blow to narcotrafficking syndicates operating along the Guadalquivir, highlighting the comprehensive, cooperative efforts of the Guardia Civil across Andalucía.
